Sorrento Shore Excursion to Positano and Pompeii with Wine Tasting

Not to be missed, in the main square of Positano, the Church of Santa Maria Assunta, which has been there since the year one thousand; its great dome, covered with coloured majolica, is visible from every corner of the village. The stop here in Positano lasts about an hour, the time required to enjoy the main attractions of the place.
The tour continues to Pompeii, the summer resort for the most important people of ancient Rome. The city was completely destroyed by the eruption of the Vesuvius in 79 D. C. The archaeological ruins, which began in the eighteenth century, and still continue, always discovering new wonders, such as frescoes, mosaic floors, public buildings, temples, shops and Patrician houses. The visit here will last 2 hours and if you wish we can book a tour guide that will give you the important facts inside the excavations site.
From the archaeological site we will continue to the slopes of the most famous volcano in the world, where we will start our wine tasting. You will taste many wines of Campania such as Lacryma Christi, Verdeca and the famous Falanghina, all accompanied by a tasting of typical products of the Vesuvius. Our tour ends with the return on time to the port of Sorrento, but not before having admired the beautiful Surrentine Peninsula from the coast. First stop: Positano
The first stop of our Amalfi Coast Tour is Positano, a picturesque fishing village famous for its charm, its legend and for its Positano fashion. Positano’s visit start at Piazza dei Mulini, where following the only street available you arrive at the beach. Along the way, other than the coloured bougainvilleas that line the walls of Positano you can admire a series of handicraft shops. The tailored clothes ,leather sandals and precious ceramic ware are marvellous. Along the way you are advised to visit the characteristic church of Santa Maria Assunta its multicoloured majolica tiled dome being visible from several places in the village. A short distance from the church you finally reach the enchanting Positano beach from where you can admire the Sirene islands, better known as Li Galli and the Torri Saracene. Before going back up to Piazza dei Mulini, where I will be waiting for you to continue our tour, you could stop in one of the bars along the beach to enjoy the moment and taste typical dessert.
Second stop : Amalfi
Roughly 30 minutes after leaving Positano we will arrive at Amalfi. Amalfi is the oldest Marine Republic and Flavio Gioia, who perfected the compass, was born here. In Amalfi I suggest that you visit the cathedral which rises majestically on the square which is connected by a steep staircase .After visiting the cathedral you can visit the paper museum or just wander around the streets looking for characteristic souvenirs to take home. After the walk (if you like) I will accompany you to a typical restaurant to taste some culinary specialities of Amalfi. Spaghetti with seafood, shellfish and fresh fish are served, flavours of the local tradition that you will find hard to forget. After lunch our Amalfi Coast Tour in the direction of Ravello.
The final stage of the excursion: Ravello
Ravello is one of the favourite tourist destinations for its beauty and for the feeling of serenity that it evokes. Famous people such as Wagner, Winston Churchill, Greta Garbo and Virginia Woolf have been seduced by this magical place. Ravello is famous for its villas and for the Ravello Festival. I suggest that you visit Villa Rufolo, the Cathedral of Ravello and Villa Cimbrone’s fantastic terrace of the infinite where you can admire the entire Amalfi coast from above. A unique experience! Our tour concludes with the return to Sorrento to at around 5pm retracing the winding road on the Amalfi coast. the Amalfi Coast from Sorrento Tour will be a memorable day that you will be dying to tell your friends about.
